Getting ready for Fun in the Sun!!!
Hello everyone!!! I hope that you are all doing well! Since summer is quickly approaching I figured in this blog I should cover a few pieces of styling advice I have for choosing swimsuits for a petite frame. I know that swimsuit shopping can be quite difficult for everyone but shopping as a petite woman has its additional sets of challenges (especially because there is essentially no such thing as petite swimsuit sizing). Also, being 5’3 and under we typically have shorter torsos and legs compared to standard sizing expectations. Therefore I have compiled a few tips to surviving swimsuit shopping!
- Select a one-piece that is belted at the waist. I believe a belted one-piece is very flattering because the belt divides your body in separate proportions automatically creating the appearance of balance. Besides who doesn’t love a belt that accentuates your waistline! You could also select a swimsuit with a belt a bit above your waist to create the appearance of elongated legs!
- Go crazy for a high cut one-piece! Just like a belted one-piece a high legged one-piece swimsuit will elongate your figure to make you look taller. One-pieces are also great if you do not like to wear a traditional bikini. In addition to this a high leg cut suit will also make your legs appear longer (and they are super cute I must say).
- Don’t be afraid to choose a high waisted swimsuit bottom! I personally love high waisted bottoms because they instantly create a retro vibe to a swimsuit as well as the fact that they are extremely flattering on petite frames. High waisted bottoms are great if you are like me and have a long torso but very short legs. This is because high waisted bottoms raise your waistline while also lengthening the appearance of your legs. I’ve found these bottoms create a great sense of balance in a swimwear look.
I hope these tips will help you on your shopping trip for swimsuits, especially right in time for summer! Thank you all so much for reading and good luck on your next swimwear shopping spree! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!
Much love!
