Finally, JACKETS and COATS!

Finally, JACKETS and COATS! Hello everyone!!! I hope that you are all doing well! I think today would be a wonderful day to talk about some styling tips regarding jackets and coats! Jackets are a huge part of our lives (especially those who live in the Northern States). I have found that jackets for petite women are either a homerun or a downright no. So, I have put together a list of ideas on how to style and select your coats and jackets. I am so excited to show you some tips on how to choose jackets and coats to flatter a petite frame. I hope you enjoy these ideas and find them useful! As always feel free to add your own style to this advice and have fun!   1. Choose a wrap-around coat ! As mentioned in my swimwear advice wrap around anything is flattering for petite frames! These types of items can help accentuate your waistline. Also you can adjust the tightness of the belt which is great for shorter women. I have found these types of jackets to be wonderful as many times coats

Blouses, Shirts, and Tops Part 2

Blouses, Shirts, and Tops Part 2 Hello everyone!!! I hope that you are all doing well! I’ve decided that today would be a great day to discuss some tips regarding shirt styling. I know that I have covered some tips regarding shirts in my previous blog post but knowing more never seems to hurt! So, I have put together another list of ideas on how to style your shirts to make you look taller and slimmer. Below are a new few pieces of advice on how to choose shirts, blouses, and tops to flatter a petite frame. I hope you enjoy these ideas and find them useful:)  Try to stay away from bulky or highly textured garments. Although these items are typically very cute and trendy they may not complement a petite frame. Unfortunately sweaters and other textured items may appear boxy or bulky. I have tripled many times to wear those big fluffy winter sweaters but they typically do not flatter my figure very well. However if you really enjoy this style pick a thin sweater or garment to he

Blouses, Shirts, and Tops Hello everyone!!! I hope that you are all doing well! I’ve decided that today would be a great day to discuss some tips regarding shirt styling. I have put together a list of ideas on how to style your shirts to make you look taller and slimmer. Below are a few pieces of advice on how to choose shirts, blouses, and tops to flatter a petite frame. I hope you enjoy these ideas and find them useful!  1. Wear fitted shirts. Tops that are fitted or semi-fitted tend to flatter petite frames. This is because loosely fitting clothing items may overwhelm your figure or even make you appear bulky when you are not. However, if you prefer to wear loose-fitting clothing try to balance out the look by wear one fitted item and one non-fitted item. A great example of this is pairing a large t-shirt with skinny jeans and high heels. This will create an elegant and balanced look that will help elongate your figure even when you wear a non-fitted item.  2. Choos

Getting Ready for Fun in the Sun Part 2

Getting Ready for Fun in the Sun Part 2!!!  Hello everyone!!! I hope that you are all doing well! Since summer is quickly approaching I figured in this blog I should cover a few pieces of styling advice I have for choosing swimsuits for a petite frame. I know that I have written a previous blog post about this however I think it does not hurt any to add a few more tips to choosing swimwear. I hope you find these additional tips useful. I decided that selecting a good variety of styles over these past two blog posts will help fit everyone’s personal style! Enjoy:)  1.Feel free to try a wrap book top swimsuit! This type of bikini tops wraps around your torso to accentuate your curves. In addition, this particular style of swimsuit is also a great option if you want a feminine flair to your look. I believe a wrap too is overall flattering for each petite body type whether you are a rectangle, pear, apple, or hourglass figure. A wrap top is great at flattering your waist as this

Getting Ready for Fun in the Sun

Getting ready for Fun in the Sun!!! Hello everyone!!! I hope that you are all doing well! Since summer is quickly approaching I figured in this blog I should cover a few pieces of styling advice I have for choosing swimsuits for a petite frame. I know that swimsuit shopping can be quite difficult for everyone but shopping as a petite woman has its additional sets of challenges (especially because there is essentially no such thing as petite swimsuit sizing). Also, being 5’3 and under we typically have shorter torsos and legs compared to standard sizing expectations. Therefore I have compiled a few tips to surviving swimsuit shopping!  Select a one-piece that is belted at the waist . I believe a belted one-piece is very flattering because the belt divides your body in separate proportions automatically creating the appearance of balance. Besides who doesn’t love a belt that accentuates your waistline! You could also select a swimsuit with a belt a bit above your waist to create

Accessories Are Necessities

Accessories are Necessities   Hello everyone!!! I hope that you are all doing well! In this blog I will be covering a few pieces of styling advice I have for choosing accessories for a petite frame! Personally, accessories are some of my very favorite items as they can add so much depth to an outfit. Whether it be a pair of dazzling hoops or the perfect belt I think accessories are extremely useful for dressing as a petite woman. Below I have a few tips on how to select the perfect accessories.  1. Choose boots that hit just above the ankle or even below the ankle! Since boots are a staple item it is very helpful to know which ones will look best on you! Ankle boots will always hit your legs at a flattering place so no matter what the boot looks like they will compliment you and your outfit. Although very high boots may be super cute these types of shoes often do not flatter shorter legs. However, if you do choose a longer boot pick one with a bit of a heel to it to help add heig

Jeans, Skirts and More!

Jeans, Skirts and More! Hello everyone!!! I hope that you are all doing well this week. On this lovely Saturday I will be covering a few pieces of styling advice I have for pants and petite fashion. Wear bell-bottomed jeans! I know this tip is quite out of the box however I am extremely biased toward retro denim or retro denim inspired looks. I have found that jeans with a flare at the bottom help elongate the look of your legs which is particularly useful for those with a petite figure. This is especially true is you pair these jeans with a shoe with a little bit of a heel (or a lot of bit of a heel if you are feeling spunky). Also, if full bell bottoms are not your cup of tea you could always opt for a slightly flared jean to achieve the same effect!  Another pant styling tip I have for you is to go for high-waisted pants or bottoms. High waisted pants not only bring you in at the waist to flatter your figure but they also elongate the appearance of your legs! You could even

Shopping and Styling Tips for the Petite Woman

Shopping and Styling Tips for the Petite Woman Hello everyone!!! I hope that you are all doing well. This week I will be covering a few shopping and styling tips I have for petite fashion. 1. Don’t be afraid to shop in the kid’s section. Although this tip may make you a little hesitant the children’s section offers many advantages. Some of the larger kids sizes may have better measurements for your frame. For example a kid's size shirt may be the perfect length for you as opposed to getting a shirt the is way too long. Or kids leggings will give you the perfect length as opposed to getting that annoying little bunch around your ankle when your pants are way too long. I really like to use the kid's section for athletic wear as you can get a better fitting item at a better place as well. In addition to clothing items I have found it is also quite beneficial to shop for shoes in the kid's section. In fact most of my shoes are from the children section! This is because the pr

SALES SALES SALES

SALES SALES SALES  Hello everyone!! I hope all of you are doing well! This week I am covering one of my favorite things in the whole wide world! Sales!!! Whether it’s a semi-annual sale, a sale for the change in seasons or a sale on certain items like jeans or swimsuits. Whatever the reason is I think they are the only way to shop. I personally never buy anything that is not on sale because the full price is way too expensive. Some stores I know that offer great sales are Pacsun (I’ve got two pairs of jeans or 10 dollars total!!!), Aerie/ American eagle and Kohl's. These stores may even offer petite items on sale online or in person. Although markdown petite items are typically found easier if they are purchased online. Some advice I have for shopping sale items is to always search for staples! Sales are the absolute perfect time to add some more staple items to your wardrobe. This includes anything from blue jeans to solid colored t-shirts! Another tip I have for shoppi
