Shopping and Styling Tips for the Petite Woman

Shopping and Styling Tips for the Petite Woman
Hello everyone!!! I hope that you are all doing well. This week I will be covering a few shopping and styling tips I have for petite fashion.

1. Don’t be afraid to shop in the kid’s section.
Although this tip may make you a little hesitant the children’s section offers many advantages. Some of the larger kids sizes may have better measurements for your frame. For example a kid's size shirt may be the perfect length for you as opposed to getting a shirt the is way too long. Or kids leggings will give you the perfect length as opposed to getting that annoying little bunch around your ankle when your pants are way too long. I really like to use the kid's section for athletic wear as you can get a better fitting item at a better place as well. In addition to clothing items I have found it is also quite beneficial to shop for shoes in the kid's section. In fact most of my shoes are from the children section! This is because the prices are a lot less expensive for the same shoe as the adult version.

2. Search the sale racks!!! Often I find that in the clearance section the items there are typically very small sizes. I have found petite sizes in the sale section for every item from shoes, jeans and athletic wear. So searching through this section can help you find an item that fits you and your budget!

3. Cuff your jeans!
Are you tired of too much length to your pants? Cuffing your jeans right below the ankle is an easy makeshift hem you can achieve at home. Cuffing your jeans or other pants helps give a more polished look to any outfit especially those with heels. In addition to this if your pants do not easily cuff you can do a DIY cuff with a few safety pins!

I hope these tips will help you with your next petite shopping adventure! Thank you all so much for reading! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!

Much love!

Welcome!!!

Hello everyone!!! Welcome to Angela's Petite Fashion Survival Guide! As a girl sizing up to the massive height of 5'0" tall, I have had my fair share of fashion disasters. This includes all the dreaded long baggy jeans, awkward length skirts and shopping in the children's section. But through all these fashion nightmares, I have also found a love for clothing and how much it has to offer in regards to personal creativity. To me, clothing is an outlet to show who you are whether it be to stand out with a bold print, reference a previous age with a vintage look or keeping it simple with athleisure. So, with all the opportunities that clothing gives to us, I feel like there is not a super inclusive place for petite women in the fashion industry. Because of this, I am creating this blog as an outlet to showcase my adventures as a petite shopper. Through this journey, I look forward to sharing all the ups and downs as well as the tips for surviving clothing shopping as a ti...

Blouses, Shirts, and Tops Part 2

Blouses, Shirts, and Tops Part 2 Hello everyone!!! I hope that you are all doing well! I’ve decided that today would be a great day to discuss some tips regarding shirt styling. I know that I have covered some tips regarding shirts in my previous blog post but knowing more never seems to hurt! So, I have put together another list of ideas on how to style your shirts to make you look taller and slimmer. Below are a new few pieces of advice on how to choose shirts, blouses, and tops to flatter a petite frame. I hope you enjoy these ideas and find them useful:)  Try to stay away from bulky or highly textured garments. Although these items are typically very cute and trendy they may not complement a petite frame. Unfortunately sweaters and other textured items may appear boxy or bulky. I have tripled many times to wear those big fluffy winter sweaters but they typically do not flatter my figure very well. However if you really enjoy this style pick a thin sweater or garment t...

SALES SALES SALES

SALES SALES SALES  Hello everyone!! I hope all of you are doing well! This week I am covering one of my favorite things in the whole wide world! Sales!!! Whether it’s a semi-annual sale, a sale for the change in seasons or a sale on certain items like jeans or swimsuits. Whatever the reason is I think they are the only way to shop. I personally never buy anything that is not on sale because the full price is way too expensive. Some stores I know that offer great sales are Pacsun (I’ve got two pairs of jeans or 10 dollars total!!!), Aerie/ American eagle and Kohl's. These stores may even offer petite items on sale online or in person. Although markdown petite items are typically found easier if they are purchased online. Some advice I have for shopping sale items is to always search for staples! Sales are the absolute perfect time to add some more staple items to your wardrobe. This includes anything from blue jeans to solid colored t-shirts! Another tip I have for shoppi...
